Canon HF S100 Comparison
Canon HF20 versus Panasonic HDC-HS20
• The Panasonic HDC-HS20 contains no internal memory and records to SD/SDHC cards
• The HDC-HS20 is significantly cheaper than the HF20
• The HDC-HS20 had lower performance scores on most tests, with the notable exception of noise.
• Measured a much lower video resolution than the Canon HF20
• The HS20 uses an LCD touch screen interface
Despite the price of approx £750, the Panasonic HDC-HS20 couldn't perform on the same level as the competition. The only performance area where the HDC-HS20 excelled was with noise, but this is only because the camcorder records at such a low video resolution. The HDC-HS20 is cheaper than the Canon HF20, however, so if you're looking for a budget option it may be worth your while to check it out.
