Conclusion
JVC GZ-HD620 versus JVC GZ-HM1
The JVC GZ-HM1 is JVC's flagship model for 2010 and costs about
£500 more than the HD620. The higher price is justified with its
much larger CMOS sensor, which helps produce sharper images and
less noise. Surprisingly, the GZ-HD620 held its own compared to the HM1 in our low light testing.
When it comes to features and handling, the HM1 has the clear edge.
It has more manual controls than the GZ-HD620, a cold accessory shoe,
and an optical stabilisation
system. The HM1 also has a control dial which makes manual adjusments a
lot easier to adust compared to using the Laser Touch Strip. The HD620,
on the other hand, has a lot more internal memory than the HM1 due to
its internal hard drive (the GZ-HM1 has 32GB of internal flash memory
as well as an SD/SDHC card slot).
