JVC Picsio GC-FM1
Previous: Part 8

Audio & Other Features
Playback & Connectivity Summary
• Playback mode includes a traditional thumbnail view
• The dpad is difficult to use for fast-forward and rewind, but easy to use for playback volume adjustment
• The generic ports are convenient for AV, HDMI, and USB connections, but they are uncovered, leaving them vulnerable to wear and elements
Playback (4.00)

| The playback mode button is very conspicuous. |
The Picsio has a dedicated playback mode that can be entered by pressing the prominent playback button on the back of the camcorder. This mode has the usual thumbnail set-up, displaying nine thumbnails at a time. You can toggle between photo and video playback by pressing the video/photo mode button. During playback, up and down on the directional pad will raise and lower playback volume. Left and right will let you advance from clip to clip. Holding down on those arrows will engage the fast-forward and rewind functions (which are not very responsive).
The trash can icon on the back of the camcorder will allow you to delete a file whether you're in the middle of playback or have the video highlighted in thumbnail view.

Connectivity (2.00)
The Picsio has a small handful of ports available right on the camcorder. The three primary ports are a composite AV, HDMI, and USB. These outputs are on the right side of the camcorder, all exposed to the elements without any kind of port cover. This could spell disaster fora camcorder that's likely to be casually tossed into a purse or pocket. Dust, sand, or dirt can get into a port and ruin it.

| Three simple ports reside on the right side of the camcorder: composite AV, HDMI, and USB. |
One additional port on the Picsio GC-FM1is the SD/SDHC memory card slot. With negligible internal memory, SD cards are the primary storage media for recording videos and photos on the Picsio.
