Panasonic HDC-HS60 versus JVC GZ-HD620

The JVC GZ-HD620 and the Panasonic HDC-HS60 are very similar, though the HS60 has a slight edge. Both have 120GB hard drives, similar CMOS sensors for sharp images, and good motion. The JVC had a very impressive, improved low light capability, but the HS60 has a better OIS, a more comfortable design, and an advanced set of manual controls.

The JVC does have the better colour accuracy and an impressive low light capability, as well as 30x optical zoom (5x longer than the Panasonic's) and is cheaper than the HS60. It is not enough to recommend the HD620 over the solid Panasonic HDC-HS60, but we we are impressed by how well the JVC GZ-HD620 stands up to the competition.

Note: The JVC GZ-HD60 is not available on JVC's website, but you can buy it from other retailers, like Amazon.
