| Introduction | ||||
Pure Digital's Flip UltraHD (£159.99) is the upgrade of the Flip Ultra. Following its sister models, the mini-camcorder is just as easy to use. The UltraHD, however, features a little more: it is packed with 8GB of internal memory, has an HDMI port—the first Flip to have one—and records at a resolution of 1280 x 720 and a 30p frame rate. It also delivers the best overall performance yet from the Flip series.Though the Flip's simplicity is unrivaled, its lack of manual controls could be the main reason for someone to choose another mini-camcorder. |

| (Page 1 of 17) | Product Tour | |

| Section | The Good | The Bad |
| Product Tour | Feels more rugged | Less appealing than its MinoHD cousin |
| Colour & Noise Performance | Noise levels are very low in bright light | Overall image has a slight green-yellow tint. |
| Motion & Sharpness Performance | Not too much artefacting and sharp image | Videos have a slower, choppier look due to 30p recording |
| Low Light Performance | Very good low light sensitivity |
Colour accuracy is a little worse than the MinoHD |
| Compression & Media | Software is easy to use, Windows- and Mac-compatible | All video is recorded at 1280 x 720p |
| Manual Controls | Lack of manual controls make operation incredibly simple | No manual controls or features available |
| Still Features | Nothing... |
The UltraHD has no still features |
| Handling & Use | Very easy to use, sturdy, and portable | Poor battery life, recharging takes a long time |
| Playback & Connectivity | Good to have: HDMI port | No standard video ports |
| Audio & Other Features | Stereo microphone |
No audio setting or other features |
