Conclusion

Pure Digital Flip UltraHD

Because it does away with the standard array of manual controls, menus, and settings, the Flip UltraHD (£159.99) is incredibly easy to use—just what you would expect from a Flip camcorder. The different button design makes the handling even better than the MinoHD. Pure Digital's Flip camcorders are for those seeking a simple experience. Deciding between the UltraHD and the MinoHD is just a question of size and memory capacity.

The decision also depends on your preferences. If you want more versatility, manual controls, and features, there are certainly better choices. All three comparison models in this set (the Sony MHS-PM1, Kodak Zx1, and Sanyo VPC-CG10) offer more controls and features than the UltraHD. However, no camcorder out there—ultracompact or traditional—can compete with the simple and seamless experience provided by the Flip, especially in terms of uploading your footage to a website. So, if you are not planning to do much more than uploading your footage to YouTube, the Flip UltraHD is your camcorder of choice.
