The Victor Company of Japan (known as JVC outside of Japan), was the original leader in hard drive with the Everio series of camcorders. It has recently focused its efforts on building compact, affordable camcorders, focusing on software developments and user experience. At the highest-end of the market, JVC continues to offer a handful of more fully-featured models that compete with the best from Canon, Sony, and others.

JVC Everio GZ-HM1
Other than a new silver paint job, JVC's newest flagship model, the Everio GZ-HM1, looks exactly like its predecessor, the GZ-HM400. JVC Everio GZ-HM400
The Everio GZ-HM400 is JVC´s top camcorder, and a much more advanced version of the X900. Both have more or less the same specs, but the HM400 includes 32GB of internal flash memory and all the manual controls that were missing on the X900. Read full 17-part review
