Canon Announces New Compact Professional Camcorders—the XF105 and the XF100
August 31, 2010 – Canon updated its professional line of XF camcorders today with the release of the XF105 and XF100. Both camcorders share many similarities to the XF305 and XF300 pro models that Canon unveiled earlier this year, but the new camcorders have a more compact design as well as built-in 3D and infrared shooting options.

Sanyo's model for more budget-conscious consumers is the Xacti VPC-CG10, available for about £229,99. The upright, pistol-grip design differentiates the CG10 from other ultra compact camcorders with the iPod design like the Flip series.
